They grew up together, having been around 9 and 10 years old when they met, and surviving with each other and the gang for 10 years. The two were close, and Reuben had made the implication he took Chip under his wing when the other first arrived at Skullslice. In this time, Reuben would gain a reputation as a terrifying man who had eyes everywhere.Ĭhip was one of the members of Reuben's old gang. He would eventually make it to Darkport, where he laid foundations for a new base and a new crew to lead. This left him with a nasty gash across the side of his face, and a wrong to right. In the fire, Reuben was badly burnt and beaten by shrapnel and debris. This was the breaking point for Chip, who poured gunpowder around the gang's base and set it ablaze after a night of celebration for his peer-pressured kill. ![]() They had even seen the other as family, until one night when Reuben coerced Chip to murder a man who had merely disrespected or betrayed the gang in some way. The two had been close during the 10 years that followed the sinking of the Midnight Rose, and they grew up with each other and Reuben's gang. Even since his younger days, he had a rough streak in him, gaining enough of a reputation to push Chip, who had been a member of the gang, away. ![]() ![]() Reuben Price was the leader of a gang in his earlier years while living in Skullslice Port. He does show a willingness to forgive Chip in his own strange, warped way, but chances are it leaned more towards a controlling nature or dishonesty instead of genuine care.īackground/History Prior to the events of Riptide He goes far enough to threaten the people that Chip loves to force him to do a favor, figuring it to be payback for what Price believed to be a betrayal. Regardless of how much time might have passed, when discovering Chip's wanted posters, he opts to send a deadly message to warn the other to stay away. Reuben is a more snarky and hot-headed character, not taking too kindly to insults and quickly resorting to threats to get what he wants.Īs seen with his and Chip's interactions in episode 59 and 60, Reuben is a vindictive person as well. He is feared by many, and he has the watchful eyes and connections to back up his reputation. Whether through persuasion, charisma, or downright intimidation- Price has made a terrifying name for himself in All-Port. The eye is able to fire extremely strong bursts of energy that disintegrates victims, and causes purple and green veins to pop up across the wearer's body. Upon placing the eye in one of his sockets, the glass ball changed to become a more natural purple eye with a reptilian slit pupil. Near the end of episode 60, he is given a magical glass eye by Chip. He also wears a pair of fancily patterned dress shoes. Chains wrap around his arms and down his bare torso, where two tattoos of Japanese dragons climb up from just beneath his red leather pants and end at his neck. He wears a long, studded black leather jacket with a popped raven feather collar and designs covering the shoulder pads. With that scar is an ugly, messy gash that covers one side of his face and keeps his eye shut. From his cheek, across the bridge of his nose, and to the other side of his face is a relatively fresh scar. His hair is jet black and swept back down his neck, tied at one side by a braid with two pieces falling over his forehead. He is relatively scrawny but with almost inhuman muscle definition, especially considering his stature. Captain Price, aka Reuben Price, is a human man and bounty hunter captain.
